Greater Lafayette Commerce leads multiple talent development initiatives in the 9-county region which makes up the Greater Lafayette laborshed, which is one of Indiana’s 21st Century Talent Regions.

21st Century Talent Region

Indiana’s 21st Century Talent Regions have collaborative working teams, along with larger stakeholder teams, that have developed data-driven talent dashboards.  These dashboards outline shared regional initiatives focused on talent attraction, development and connection.  The Greater Lafayette regional team works together to develop shared goals and implement a plan to increase educational attainment, including specialty certifications desired by local employers, as well as raise household income and grow the region’s population.

Talent Initiatives & Business Services

  • Connecting Veterans – Greater Lafayette Commerce has an advisory committee to connect Veterans with community services and organizations for a great transition to our community. Whether you are a veteran returning to Indiana or a veteran that is new to Indiana, we welcome you.
  • Work Ethic Certification – This program was created in cooperation with the local school systems to give high school students an opportunity to develop critical employability skills recognized as important to area industries and businesses. Lafayette School Corporation, Tippecanoe County School Corporation, West Lafayette Community School Corporation and Greater Lafayette Commerce implemented the Indiana Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate in 2018.

TalentTrack

TalentTrack is a regional workforce development program which helps employers analyze their specific workforce needs, then recruit, evaluate, train and retain their workers.  Greater Lafayette Commerce creates partnerships between business and industry leaders, educators and other workforce development stakeholders that deliver high-tech employees.  The program works to match the needs of both existing companies and those considering a move to the Greater Lafayette region.

Greater Lafayette Commerce’s partners in this effort include the state of Indiana, Purdue Polytechnic, Vincennes University, Ivy Tech Community College, Purdue Research Foundation and the Region4 Workforce Board.

This team approach and personalized service provides turnkey workforce strategy, flexible timelines, and innovative methods that provide the highest level of training for all prospective candidates and employees.  The TalentTrack team is focused on your satisfaction and works quickly to get results without red tape, providing focused professional recruiting efforts across a wide array of expertise.
