Description
The 2018 Polar Plunge benefiting Special Olympics Indiana at Purdue is a non-profit that provides year-round sports training for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Individuals and teams plunge, many in costumes, to be "freezin' for a reason." Plungers can enjoy a meal after they plunge, and spectators may make a $5 donation to enjoy lunch. There is also a big Silent Auction, and music by DJ Indiana. All proceeds from this event benefit Special Olympics athletes in our community, giving them the means to train locally and to compete at the state level in a number of Olympic-type sports.
