Job Fair slated for May 1, Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds

A job fair will be held Tuesday, May 1, at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds West Pavilion, 1401 Teal Road in Lafayette, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organizers are expecting about 60 booth spaces to fill, most by companies seeking employees, said Nancy Sells, economic development program manager at Greater Lafayette Commerce.

From 10 a.m. to noon, military veterans and their families can meet with prospective employers and the general public can attend workshops on resumes and interviewing. Then from noon to 3 p.m., the general public can meet with prospective employers.

Also slated is an orientation from 1 to 3 p.m. on Advancing Manufacturing’s scholarship-funded certified production technician program.

A booth where professional employment representatives will give job-seeking tips will be open from noon on.

The free event is hosted by Region 4 Workforce Board, Greater Lafayette Commerce, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, and Tippecanoe County Area Military Resource Network.
