    Job Description
    Overview

    The Database Adminstrator, Information Systems will be responsible for developing complex database systems, assisting the development teams in the design, development, and implementation of Database objects to help the Development organization become more efficient. Design and develop advanced database solutions, including stored procedures, triggers, functions and schemas to enable and support development objectives.  Improve processes and procedures to increase overall reliability while providing mentoring, guidance and direction to development staff in techniques for writing efficient SQL code.  Applying functional area expertise to optimize the programming results through adherence to corporate information security guidelines and database standards. 
    • Reviews and understands data models and ensures those models are optimal
    • Creates, maintains and enforces Database Development Standards
    • Works closely with the Development Teams and Operations Teams
    • Provides advice to applications programmers in the effective use of database languages
    • Provides SQL tuning and performance statistics feedback to development teams
    • Query Optimization by analyzing Key/Index usage and other statistics
    • Data movement in SQL Server (ETL and Load Utilities) 
    • Perform physical database design
    • Completion of Database Development Projects on time and within budget 
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Minimum of at least 5 years experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
    • Expertise in  Microsoft SQL Server database administration
    • Stored Procedures and Triggers
    • Data Modeling Experience
    • Index Optimization
    • Performance Tuning
    • SQL Server Disaster Recovery
     Desired Qualifications:
    • Experience with DB2 for LUW
    • Familiarity with SSAS and data warehouse design  
    • Familiarity with web based application development (Java, .NET)
    • Experience with ETL tools (SSIS, DTS, Pentaho, Business Objects)
    • Knowledge of SQL Server High Availability and Replication
