Head for Third House
During each Indiana legislative session, Greater Lafayette Commerce hosts the Third House breakfast sessions, where participants review and comment on pending bills and hear from local legislators on the previous week’s activities at the statehouse.
Participants choose a committee to follow legislation by topic, with pending bills and information communicated electronically.
Committees include:
I. Health Human Services, Aging Families and Children
II. Agriculture, Small Business, Natural Resources, Transportation, Tourism and Environment
III. Government Affairs, Finance and Taxation and Public Policy
IV. Education
V. Corporations, Financial Institutions, Insurance and Labor
VI. Courts, Judiciary and Criminal Codes
Hear From State Representatives, Senators
“It’s a very efficient use of time,” says Beth Stull, this year’s speaker of Third House. “And it’s a great hot breakfast.” One value, she says: “You can interact with our state representatives and senators. They are very faithful about attending and they give up-to-the-minute information.”
