Congressman Buyer Announces 2010 Hoosier Job Fair

The July 19th Job Fair will be the Third in Lafayette, and the 12th in 6 years

In a continuous effort to counter Indiana’s high unemployment rate of 9.9 percent, Congressman Steve Buyer (IN-04) is hosting his 12th Hoosier Job Fair on Monday, July 19, 2010.  The Congressman was joined by Lafayette Mayor, Tony Roswarski, West Lafayette Mayor, John Dennis, Principal of Lafayette Jefferson High School, Jeff Studebaker, President of the Greater Lafayette Commerce, John Seaman, President of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, Dana Smith, and a representative from the Tecumseh Area Partnership at Monday’s announcement of the 2010 Hoosier Job Fair, which will be held at Lafayette Jefferson High School from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00p.m.

“This will be the third Hoosier Job Fair that I have hosted in Lafayette, and I am appreciative to have the help of the Lafayette and West Lafayette Mayors, Tony Roswarski and John Dennis, Lafayette Jefferson High School, the Greater Lafayette Commerce, Tecumseh Area Partnership, and WorkOne,” stated Buyer.  “Hoosiers are still feeling the strain of the state’s 9.9 percent unemployment rate, and I am hopeful this fair will offer new opportunities for both job-seekers and businesses.

The 2010 Hoosier Job Fair will have representatives from businesses all over the fourth congressional district and the state of Indiana. The job fair is free and open to all businesses, job-seekers and to those who may be searching for new opportunities.  Businesses may sign up at www.stevebuyer.house.gov or by calling Michelle in Congressman Buyer’s Plainfield District Office at (317) 838-0404.
