Professor of English and Director of the Creative Writing program at the University of Alabama, Michael Martone, grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and graduated from Indiana University with a degree in English. Critically regarded as powerful and funny, Martone’s work displays the type of humor only found in the Midwest.

Join us at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, in the Alfred J. and Dorothy N. McAllister Meeting Room B at the Downtown Library. Hear Professor Martone read selections from his books. Listen as he discusses his craft. Martone is the author of several books, including Fort Wayne is Seventh on Hitler’s List, The Blue Guide to Indiana, and Townships:
Pieces of the Midwest. His latest is simply titled Michael Martone.
