Since her 2016 breast cancer diagnosis, author, speaker and stand-up comedian Tracy DeGraaf has used her illness for good by spreading the message that even though “Cancer Happens,” It’s still possible to “Laugh Anyway!” DeGraaf will share her story at The Outpost, 2501 Old US 231 South, Lafayette, IN, 47909 on Thursday, July 18 at 5:30-9 p.m. This event is free, however, registration is required as seating is limited. Register at www.franciscanhealth.org or by calling 877-888-1777. Guests will enjoy DeGraaf’s hilarious comedy including stories from the seasons of her life from getting married and having kids to gaining weight and growing a beard. The evening will close with DeGraaf sharing how a mammogram caught her disease early and she will encourage women to register on the spot for their own mammograms. In addition to comedy, everyone will have access to free health screenings, signature drinks, mammogram scheduling, refreshments and breast cancer awareness education. All women are encouraged to attend and especially those who are overdue for a mammogram. DeGraaf has a special message just for them. “My cancer was found on a routine mammogram and I’m passionate about sharing the importance of getting regular screenings for all kinds of cancers because it can save your life and spare you from a lot of suffering,” DeGraaf said. DeGraaf is currently speaking and performing comedy throughout the U.S. at churches, non-profit organizations and for corporate events. For more information go to www.tracydegraaf.com.
