Food drives are a great way for groups of all sizes to make a difference in the fight against hunger. Join TCYP as we assist in serving our community at the new Fresh Market Food Finders location, located in the old Save A Lot store. In small groups, we will restock food items and assist community members as needed.
In these uncertain times, Food Finders strives to be a safe location for all those who enter. As such, stringent safety guidelines are in place:
- Volunteers must wear a mask. (If you have your own mask, please bring it with you. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided when you arrive.)
- Volunteers must sign a COVID waiver (provided through Volunteer Hub) when registering for each shift.
- Volunteers must wear gloves while handling food. (We will provide gloves.)
- Volunteers must complete a temperature check and self-declaration of health upon arrival.
- Volunteers must maintain social distance as much as possible during volunteer projects.
- Volunteers will be asked to not enter our buildings until 10 minutes prior to their shift. (Our buildings remain closed to the public during this time. At 10 minutes prior to each volunteer shift, our doors will unlock to allow access.)
- Volunteers must inform the Volunteer Coordinator (volunteer@food-finders.org) if they develop any COVID-19 symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19 in the 14 days following their volunteer shift. Without disclosing the identity of the volunteer, the Volunteer Coordinator will then inform the staff and any other volunteers who might have interacted with that individual while they were at Food Finders.
Since 1981, Food Finders Food Bank has been a critical component of the welfare of Tippecanoe and 15 surrounding counties in Indiana: providing food to member agencies, advocating for the hungry, and educating the public about hunger-related issues.
