Come get a FREE Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 from 8 a.m. to noon. - Located at: Franciscan Education Center 1501 Hartford St. Lafayette, IN 47904 - In addition to regular doctor visits, the best way to keep cardiovascular disease out is to know your risk factors through screening. PAD is a clogging of arteries in the leg can be life-threatening if left untreated. An estimated 12 million Americans have PAD, increasing their risk of death from heart attack and stroke by two to six times. PAD can decrease blood flow to the legs and feet, resulting in muscle fatigue and pain when walking and can lead to amputation, disability and diminished quality of life. - Other screenings offered include cholesterol, fall risk, heart risk assessment, body composition, hearing screening and diabetes education. - Guests should use the entrance on the lower ramp to the Education Center off 16th Street.
