Description
Greater Lafayette Commerce is happy to announce our continued partnership with Purdue Orientations Programs in 2020! This year, we will be swapping out our beloved in person, one evening event Boiler Bridge Bash for Boiler Bash Dash, a scavenger hunt that will highlight local organizations and businesses, as well as the Greater Lafayette landscape, with in person AND virtual ‘missions’. This will be marketed to incoming Purdue University students as a part of their Boiler Gold Rush experience! An added bonus will be that the students will have two weeks to complete virtual and/or in-person ‘missions’ by themselves or with their new college friends. Once enough of these ‘missions’ are complete, students can claim their prize, a sweet swag bag filled with goodies from participating vendors!
Interested in joining this fun “Choose Your Own Experience” event and getting your organization’s name and mission in front of incoming Purdue University students? Here are some things you’ll need to know:
- Think of tasks students could complete that ties into your organization’s values, motto, or mission!
- One task must be virtual OR on Purdue Campus. This can be a fun photo to take, a webinar to join, a video to watch, a short quiz to take, a visit to a campus location, and more!
- Choose an alternative in-person task, like a password they can get from an associate, a hidden QR code, or a visit to your location!
- The options for either of these mission types are endless, so be creative! Just keep in mind, they should be free to do.
- Choose one swag item your organization would like to add to our swag bag! This is optional, but highly recommended as it makes the hunt worth it all!
- We are offering all vendors the chance for student followers by creating a Boiler Bridge Bash Instagram that will highlight different vendors who have opted in for 2020! If you’d like us to direct students to your Instagram, make sure to let us know the details of a discount, giveaway, or other incentive you’d like to offer students for the day, week, or year!
- Tasks must be safe. No tasks will be allowed that could endanger students, physically or mentally, or heighten their risk of infection.
- Registration costs are as follows: Non-Profit - $10, Greater Lafayette Commerce Member - $15, Non-Member - $25.
- We MUST have all submissions in by noon on Wednesday, August 13, 2020. This is an incredibly short window, but we must present all tasks to Purdue University for approval to move forward.
- No payments will be collected until event gains approval from Purdue University.
