First-Class Education
Three public school corporations serve Greater Lafayette. All are First-Class Commissioned by the state of Indiana, while the high schools are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. All three corporations operate programs for the developmentally disabled and other special-needs students.

State-required academic programs are offered at all levels. The corporation also teaches the educable developmentally disabled in grades 1–12 and trainable developmentally disabled ages 6–16.
Excellent media resources include a federally licensed educational radio station and closed-circuit television studios at Jefferson High School. The facility features a planetarium, state-of-the-art technology department and multimillion-dollar performing arts center.

State-required academic programs are offered at all levels. Especially talented students may attend Purdue classes during junior and senior years. Classes for special-needs students are conducted in cooperation with Lafayette and Tippecanoe school corporations. WLCS also provides homebound tutoring.
